Alice Barlow was transferred to the Hong Kong Police’s Hyper Crimes Division from the New York Police Department. She is the resident hero worshipper and anime otaku who first lied about her age when she enters the NYPD academy, (she was 16 at the time) and somehow became the luckiest officer alive to survive training and unnoticeably, and accidentally, promoted to the force’s Organized Crime Unit. After finding out Alice’s true age, the NYPD immediately and purposely transferred her to Hong Kong to get rid of her. Alice is the team’s morale booster and cheerleader. Whereas the team is mostly serious on the job, not including the innocent-looking Annie Kwan, Alice is your standard bubbly and ditzy comic relief type. She also has an unfortunate streak of bad luck, which gets some of her partners into trouble on one occasion or another. Otherwise, she is a happy-go-lucky person who likes to put a smile on her fellow officers, whether they like it or not. She is also occasionally accident-prone and obsessed with fictional cartoon and anime heroines, as well as real life heroes like the recently appeared Pretty Agent Cutie Love (from Harry Hare). In fact, Alice idolizes Cutie Love by recently wearing a blue bow in honor of the pink-suited heroine. Somehow, Alice is lucky enough to be responsible to get her friends out of a serious situation, where she puts them in the first place. Her favorite hobbies is collecting anime merchandise and watching TV cartoons. Her favorite food is chocolate upside-down cake. Despite her ditziness, Alice is a capable detective and a formidable martial arts master. She is a black belt in karate and possess some moderate chi-based martial arts powers like stun fireballs and light transformation skills (she transforms to her fighting suit, a skimpy leotard and knee-high boots). Her preferred melee weapon is a retractable compact metal staff that can extend to the length of a typical bo staff, and can retract into a concealable compact size enabling it to fit inside her clothes. She is also, under heavy negations from her, a reasonable undercover operative.
