Michael Richton is a private detective and Harvard Law School graduate who inherited his late parents’ restaurant business in East Philadelphia, The Patriot Bar & Grill. He was also a US Special Forces soldier involved in counter-terrorist operations in Afghanistan.

     On a routine patrol with Private Military Company (PMC) soldiers, they were ambushed by insurgents from the local warlord. During the firefight, Michael was hit and mortally wounded by friendly fire, while protecting fellow teammate Basil Benjamin, Michael’s friend and an employee of a cybernetics firm. In return for saving his life, Basil quickly transported Michael to a top secret safe house near the Pakistani border where they store classified hi-tech military hardware. To save Michael’s life, half of his body was replaced with cybernetic bionic implants.

      Upon returning to his home after recovering from the fateful surgery, he discovered that his neighborhood was plagued with drugs, corruption, crime and prostitution, resulted from the influence of the notorious major crime syndicate run by criminal mastermind Gunrunner. Determined to take back the streets, and with the help of Basil’s weapons and hi-tech equipment, Michael dons the disguise of American Soldier, a superhero detective with unbelievable agility and skills clad in a patriotic red, white and blue combat suit. After several clashes with Gunrunner and his crew, the city’s mayor repay Michael with funding and support to help him create a crime fighting unit: the Soldier 6. Now as American Soldier, the leader of the newly founded team of heroic crusaders, Michael faces the challenge of criminals and evildoers who threaten his city and to defend the citizens and the American way of life.

      Michael is a patriot who believes that hard work and determination can help achieve the American dream. He also takes pride in maintaining and operating his restaurant, where his teammates also work as employees. He gets into constant arguments with his younger sister, Lois Richton (Lois-Ville Slugger). While they do not see eye-to-eye on most subjects, Michael and Lois look after one another in good times and bad, although Michael could spend some more time attending Lois’ softball practice.

     Possessing an iron will and a strong sense of justice, Michael is determined to defend American values from those who threaten it. His favorite hobbies are riding his Harley Davison motorcycle and serving his costumers in his restaurant. His favorite food is sirloin steak. Michael is a gifted detective with deduction skills that can only be match with the world’s great detectives. He is educated in criminology, man-hunting, forensics, and chemistry. His bionic implants gives him near-superhuman strength, speed, endurance and agility. He is an expert in military-issue hand-to-hand combat, and a black belt in kung fu, karate, and kickboxing. His costume is a customized nomex survival infantry suit with “stealth” mode (which can change the suit’s color scheme from red and blue to black) and bi-waved with Kevlar. His costume is also equipped with a utility belt which contains specialized equipment including crime scene kits, surveillance gear, smoke bombs, flash bang grenades boomerangs, and shurikens; and an invulnerable beam shield arm gauntlet for protection against bullets and projectile weapons. His main weapon is a low-powered, rapid fire tranquilizer rifle with a 20-round clip magazine housing miniature sleeping, gas, and stun darts.
