Jasmine Webb is a high school student from the usually
peaceful town of Aurora, Oregon who dreams of becoming a pop star, but
ended up as Earth's last hope against an ancient evil entity who she
accidentally released from its' tomb. On a summer trip of the Arctic
Circle on an expedition with her archeologist mother and her estranged
older sister, a liaison officer with the Global Weather Bureau, Jasmine
stumbled upon an ancient tomb once buried upon the snow covered
glaciers of the area her mother and her research team were
investigating weeks earlier. In a sense of curiosity and amazement, she
went underground to find a secluded room what is believed to be an
ancient control room. Her unfortunate trademark klutziness accidentally
activated a release switch which opened the tomb, releasing a dark
alien entity and its' minions which were all sealed there a thousand
years ago. Jasmine ran in a panic and somehow escaped before the entity
reached the surfaced and exploded into the atmosphere spreading its'
reach across the globe.
Days later, tired and scared out of her wits, Jasmine returned home to
rest for another lousy day doing homework. When suddenly, a small spec
of light appeared in front of her. The light soon revealed herself as a
fairy named Crystalia, who was in charge of the ancient tomb since it
sealed the dark entity long ago before Jasmine released it. Knowing
that Jasmine is responsible of her blunder, Crystalia assigned her the
massive responsibility to return the entity back to the tomb and reseal
it for good. To aid Jasmine on her mission, Crystalia gave Jasmine a
super suit and superhuman abilities to help confront the entity and
its' minions and assigned her the title of Star Maiden, a group of
intergalactic female warriors who once were the guardian of the cosmos
protecting their citizens and their worlds from various evil threats.
(Cyrstalia used to be one of them long ago before she was assigned to
the tomb). Ecstatic and overly excited, Jasmine used this opportunity
to became a crime fighter and a public heroine, much to the dismay of
Crystalia, who warned Jasmine that she can only use her powers to fight
the entity's dark minions. Somehow Jasmine ignores her guardian's
orders, and soon became a beloved idol upon the citizens of Aurora.
Despite that, Jasmine still has to continue her responsibilities
capturing and defeat the entity and its' evil plans around the world.
Joined by her friend and classmate Ayeko Carter, and Regina Dovehart, a
princess from a tiny European nation, and then soon a host of others
who would help her crusade, Jasmine now fights for love, peace and
justice as the super powered guardian, Aurora Star.
Jasmine is upbeat, cheerful, and always likes to make friends.
Unfortunately she is also klutzy and at times occasionally lazy
especially during school days (accept of course music class). She also
has a knack for playfully teasing her friends, especially her Star
Maiden comrades, who are easily frustrated by her. She can be easily
distracted, especially during combat, by the usually things a girl
always wanted: boys, shopping and food. But when she gets hyped, she
can fully concentrate on the subject ahead, although it is only one
subject at a time. When push comes to shove, Aurora can risk her life
to protect her friends and family from danger. She is also capable,
when not distracted, to do many heroic deeds. Although Aurora initially
thinks being a superhero would erase her dreams of being a pop idol,
she hopes she would use her super heroics to someday help reached her
goals. Her favorite hobbies are songwriting, dancing, and practicing
her signing. Her favorite food is peach cobbler with whipped cream.
As with all other Star Maidens, Aurora's powers include flight,
super-speed, enhanced strength, enhanced powered vision (emitting a
magnetic/tractor beam) and emitting power blasts from her hands. She is
equipped with an “smart” aura that can protect her
with projectile weapons and explosives. She's is armed with a
lightsaber for melee attacks, especially against other (rogue) Star
Maidens (which are optional and can be generated after being
transformed.) Although she had no hand-to-hand or sword fighting traing
at first, she constantly receives fencing and Judo lessons from Regina
four times a week and between Maiden duties, if she is not constantly
lazy in attending those lessons. She can transform from her civilian
identity to her powered armor and back by spinning in super-speed (same
transformation as her other two friends.)
