C.P.U. - an acronym for Clarence Patrick Ustinov, is a Russian-born, New York-raised technician and scientist who works for the covert operations division of GOTHIC (Global Operations Tactical Headquarters for Intelligence and Counterterrorism). His parents, drug traffickers for a Columbian drug cartel, were murdered in a Russian Mafia drive-by shooting. He graduated at MIT before he was recruited to GOTHIC through the National Security Agency. On a routine assignment a mob hitman with terrorist ties targeted Clarence for eavesdropping on his alleged plans to kidnap a government official. It was then that GOTHIC send its’ best agent, The Cleaner to intercept and eliminate the hitman, leading to a chain of events that forced The Cleaner to save Clarence’s life. Since then, Clarence became The Cleaner’s behind-the-scenes assistant, mechanic and weapons armorer, as well as providing him with valuable information and mission debriefings. Clarence is a shy individual who has to atone for the sins of his parents by serving his country with being a GOTHIC agent. He is the only person The Cleaner trusts and relies upon since the assassin do not trust the executive heads of the organization due to their unpredictability on missions. Clarence owes The Cleaner his life and devoted his intellect and skills to help him complete his missions with brutal and accurate efficiency. Clarence never gets involved in a fight, due to his lack of physical and combat training; so he secludes himself in a classified base of operations where he can monitor The Cleaner’s activities via video communications and encrypted e-mail. His favorite hobbies are reading autobiographies of Albert Einstein and watching sci-fi anime. No known favorite foods. Despite his frail physical prowess and lack of combat training, C.P.U. compensates to these flaws with his trained intelligence and scientific know-how. He is an expert in biology, forensics, ballistics, and criminal psychology. He is also a skilled gunsmith and mechanic. He is fully trained in computers, electronics and state-of-the-art surveillance systems. He provided The Cleaner with weapons, gadgets and specially-equipped vehicles such as armor-plating sedans and “The Bug Zapper” - a heavily-modified van equipped with surveillance gear and armed with an anti-personnel portable gatling gun CIWS (Close-In Weapon System) and heavy armor that can withstand any projectile weapon up to a rocket propelled grenade (RPG).
