Edward Hutchinson III is the team’s second-in-command and resident SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon) gunner. He is also the team’s armorer and investigator. Edward was a career operative with the British SAS and had a good track record in Afghanistan, where he met John Bullitt and became good friends. But after hearing he was about to be transferred to Iraq, where he do not believe invading a country which had nothing to do with 9/11 and being based on false pre-war intelligence would be necessary to his country's national security, Edward refused his assignment and was dishonorably discharged from the military for refusing orders. He spent most of his now civilian career in Scotland Yard as a detective and as a officer in their Special Armed Response team (The British equivalent to the SWAT team). Bullitt reunited with Edward and hired him for his mercenary rescue team. Edward once again goes on dangerous missions, this time with his friend. Edward is a responsible and moral man. He gives advice to Bullitt every time he screws up a mission. Despite his calm and cool demeanor, Edward is also a strict person. Supervising each of the team members in following procedures and regulations; these in which he believes keeps his teammates alive. Despite his vast combat experience and military service, Edward is deeply a pacifist; he believes in a future world where there is no conflict and killing. Be theorizes that if the United States and Britain would concentrate on more diplomacy rather than continuing bombing countries for political gain, there should be no terrorist responses. He hates working with kids and teenagers (i.e. teenage heroes like the Boys B.R.A.T.S. and Alicia Mayden from Princess Spy) and he feels uncomfortable pairing with them, sometimes leading to friction with the team's radio communications officer Natsumi Kirk, the youngest member of the service. His favorite hobbies are reading detective novels, especially Sherlock Holmes, and painting. His favorite food is fig cookies. Like most of his teammates, Edward is infused with nanomachines enabling him with athletic-like strength and speed as well as enhanced senses, superhuman agility, reflexes and combat capabilities. Edward is a highly trained soldier with expertise in light weaponry, explosives, and hand-to-hand combat. He is also has talented detective and investigative skills, gained from his service at Scotland Yard; which is useful for the intelligence aspects of a mission. He has experience in military rules and regulations as well and conduct and ethics. His preferred combat weapon is an FN M249 SPW machine gun, but also is trained in the H&K MG36 and former Eastern-Bloc guns like the Russian RPK machine gun. He also has extensive training in undercover work. Like his teammates, he is implanted a internal communications module surgically emplaced inside near his skull that enables him to “cyber-link” with his other teammates.
