Jacques LeRenard was a member of the Paris Police Force's Major Crimes Unit before he transferred to the HKPF Hyper Crimes Division. Jacques is the older member of the team and brings his detective skills and vast experience to the table. Jacques was a career officer with an extraordinary arrest record who is dedicated to the law and is always a constant professional. But his past love affair with another Paris detective sometimes interfered with his work, but consulting with many of his fellow detectives in the Hyper Crimes division brought confidence and comfort in his personal life and soon became a role model for his fellow lead detectives Jackie Li and Fa-Wing Chan. He is also the charismatic romanticist; giving advice to female officers on their dating and relationship issues. His favorite hobbies are playing the accordion and participating in charity car races. His favorite food is Buttermilk-style Croissant with strawberry preserves. Jacques is an experienced and skilled detective whose expertise is robbery and homicide. He is also a veteran undercover officer with training in voiceover work and disguises. He is also a trained martial artist and hand-to-hand combatant: he is a black belt in kung fu and police-issue takedown techniques. His melee weapons of choice are two police-issue batons, which he is fully trained and uses them to create his own style of hand-to-hand combat, whether in melee or chi-based power attacks. His preferred handguns are dual .357 Desert Eagle semi-automatics and he is fully trained in handgun combat and other firearms. He is a professional driver with training on defensive driving, motorcycle riding and stunt racing.
