Former Army ranger Mike Magnum and his soldier of fortune partner Kato
run a business in which they call “mercenary treasure
hunters”: archeologists-for-hire whose specialty is to recover
priceless artifacts buried in the world’s hotspots (I.e. war
zones). Wherever the job calls for finding long-lost relics in
dangerous areas, whether it is a lost pirate chest hidden in the middle
of a Central American civil war, or a ancient gold statue buried behind
an international terrorist stronghold, Mike and Kato are the best men
for the job.
Aided by their pet monkey, Aku, Mike and Kato Miyashita uses to combat skills and ancient
civilizations know-how to get the treasure while evading and
confronting several bad guys including terrorists, rebel factions,
corrupted police, crimes syndicates and drug dealers. But will
Mike’s overbearing sex and gambling addictions distract our
heroes from finishing the job? And why an old enemy from their past is
determined to hunt down the duo and retrieve the goods for his devious

Mike Magnum
– Michael "Mike" Magnum is a Irish-American who spent his college
years serving in the French Foreign Legion for two years until he was
transferred to the US Army Rangers. It was in Somalia during the
“Blackhawk” incident in 1993 that forced him to quit the
military and pursue a career as a loan shark in Las Vegas, where after
owing some huge debts to angry mobsters is where he met
Kato Miyashita,
an ex-Yakuza hitman with a deadly sharp-shooting talent, and the two
became partners starting the professional mercenary business in Santa
Monica, CA. Along with Kato, Mike specializes in retrieving stolen
goods, treasure hunting and capturing fugitives. He currently lives
along with Kato and their pet monkey Aku in their Santa Monica
apartment, where they run their business. Despite his unusual goofing
off, and heavy addiction for sex and gambling, he’s one of the
best professionals there is. Always upbeat and determined, although he
seldom gets into trouble with locals, rivals and authorities, he always
gets the job done no matter how insurmountable the odds, for a price.
He always found pleasure seeking danger, sex and thrills, and also has
some sense of justice and never backs down from a fight, although in
most occasions ends up losing to a local strongman and sometimes needs
help from Kato. His favorite hobbies are gambling and having sex with
the ladies. His favorite foods are pork and beans and ham sandwiches
with the works. His preferred drink is Vodka and energy drink with a
touch of lemon on the rocks. Mike’s former Army Ranger
training, especially in infiltration and CQC (Close-Quarters Combat),
makes him a formidable opponent. He is a black belt in jujitsu and
judo. He’s skilled in computers, explosives and weapons. His
preferred handgun is a Browning HP 9mm semi-automatic. He wears either
a pink jacket or a blue jacket depending on the occasion.

Kato Miyashita – Kato Miyashita is a former Yakuza hitman who later became a Las Vegas loan shark
before he met Mike Magnum and became his
partner in the mercenary business. Kato is constantly pursued by both the Mafia
and the Yakuza for betrayal and assumed a different identity (Kato Miyashita is
not his real name). Kato is the “conscience” to Mike’s playboy persona, advising
him not to get into situations with a hot head. Kato is a renaissance man who
quotes poetry and saying from famous thespians. His favorite hobbies are
gardening and cleaning and repairing guns. His favorite food is vegetarian
lasagna. Kato is a combat veteran and a seasoned pistol marksman with a
2.5 second quick draw. His preferred handgun is a 2-inch barreled Colt Python
.357 revolver. He is also an expert in automatic weapons and is an expert rifleman. He is also experienced in melee
weapons and explosives. Kato other expertise is hot-wiring vehicles, vehicle
driver and aircraft pilot. Kato is an investigative genius and expert
computer hacker; he is as good on the mouse and keyboard as he is with a pistol.
