Payton Hasslebeck dream of one day playing in the NFL, but his fragile physique barely qualifies him with the Evergreen High School football team, where he is pounded hard by strong opponents. He is also teased and tormented by bullies, calling him names like “Puny Payton” or “Pee Wee Payton” due to his inability to at least qualify for the quarterback position. But one girl looks up to him: his best friend and the tomboyish leader of the cheerleading team, Anne Elektros. When Anne was transformed in a terrorist incident to became Electric Soldier, Payton is one of her first fans. One day, during a battle between Electric Soldier and a super powered villain, Payton and Anne’s other two friends, Lucy Andersen and Susan Madsen, were standing nearby a local store witnessing the fight. A stray beam emitted from the villain intended for Electric Soldier when it misses her and hit an upper wall of the store when the kids are standing under. The roof collapsed on them, critically wounded them. Payton, Lucy and Susan were rushed to the hospital, where Anne’s uncle, a geneticist who is partly responsible of Anne’s transformation earlier when she was a child, known that they had not stand a chance of surviving the accident unless he suggested that Anne give a blood transfusion to them. Anne, angry at her uncle, at first refused, but had no choice but to go ahead with the procedure. The transfusion resulted the three students undergone a transformation. Payton’s DNA infusing with Anne’s meta human blood, changed his physiology. As of Lucy and Susan, he had been given superhuman powers and abilities as Anne, leading up to the chain of events that puts Payton as the only male member of the otherwise mostly female crime fighting team, code named: Hyper High School. Payton is a hard worker and has an iron willed determination to follow his dreams, yet even still as a superhero, he is still tormented and teased at by bullies and jocks, but he gets overwhelming support of Anne and the girls. Having a bad track record when it comes to dating girls, his other school friends and classmates are a little jealous when they found out and thought that Payton got lucky with Anne, Lucy and Susan, but he has no meaning of romantic relationship as of yet, knowing that he has just a friendly relationship with them, although he has a secret crush on Anne. Payton is determined not to let an unfortunate accident stand in his was of following his dreams of making it to professional football, and will help out the Hyper High School in times of need. His favorite hobby is collecting football trading cards. His favorite food is beef stew with onions. As Quantum Quarterback, Payton’s infused blood grants him superhuman abilities including enhanced speed, strength and agility. He has a special ability to slow down time and can also teleport in short distances. He can emit an powerful attack beam and can generate energy “football-shaped” grenade-type objects which he can throw like a football to an intended target and explodes on impact with devastating force. Due to his newfound changed physique, he continues to train in football and became a trained track and field runner and athlete. He has extensive training from Electric Soldier in martial arts, and is also currently trained in non-lethal melee weapons. He has an extensive knowledge in professional sports, especially football.
