William Gavel, decorated former special ops soldier during the first Gulf War, was one of New York’s rising defense lawyers, defending victims of violent crime. But experience with dealing with corrupt police and court judges took its’ toll on him. Serving as judge, jury and executioner to violent offenders freed from trail due to legal loopholes. Although most of his victims are violent criminals and hailed as a “hero” by most of the unsuspecting public, The Judge will go to great lengths to eliminate his targets, even if it takes collateral damage with him. His psychological flaws are masked in his professional experience as a former soldier, making him a dangerous rogue, one that Black Shadow and his team is determined to put behind bars. The Judge is an experienced special forces operative with expertise in close-quarters combat, weapons, infiltration, intelligence and explosives. His mask houses night vision and infrared goggles. His judge costume conceals his Kevlar vest and houses an arsenal of compact weaponry and ordnance. He is deadly in all fields of martial arts disciplines making him an almost unbeatable opponent in hand-to-hand. His connection within the legal system allows him to bypass the system and free himself from jail. He is master escape artist gained from experience, as a magician’s assistant when he was young. His preferred weapons includes a custom gavel for melee combat that can project high-voltage electric shocks, two .45 caliber silenced handguns, a 4.7mm machine pistol and a bandolier vest of throwing knives, shurikens, modern baseball and WWII-era German stick grenades, laser proximity mines and miniature C4 sticks and detonators. He is also a master chemist: he can create homemade gas bombs and explosives for defensive and offensive purposes.
