GUNN FOR HIRE
New York City… A
bustling metropolis plagued with mobsters, terrorists, and murderers; a
city plagued with crime and corruption; a city which is changed ever
since that fateful September morning; a city where disgruntled former
NYPD homicide detective Quentin Gunn calls his office.
Dishonorably discharged from the
force after a violent shootout between rival syndicates, Gunn decided
to take matters into his own hands and start an "all-access"
troubleshooters-for-hire agency - practically a private police force,
located at a network of underground offices underneath Gunn's chain of
firearms shops.
Gunn
investigates and combats
crime with the help of half-Japanese, half-Chinese former Hong Kong
detective Nick Aramaki, his younger half-sister Teresa Wong and ex-SAS
operative George Craig. But what started as business-as-usual soon
takes a deadly turn when Gunn was betrayed by one of his former
partners, who now works for a ruthless criminal mastermind named Big
Smiley, a brilliant anarchist who vows to put the entire city into
all-out anarchy by fueling rival gang wars and controlling half of New
York's police force.
With the
city's authorities in
disarray and determined to get his revenge on those who set him up,
Gunn and his colleagues will try to clean up the criminal scum and take
back the streets using their courage, their detective work, and some
serious firepower; but will they do so and stay alive when facing
Smiley, his deadly right-hand man Mad Wolf, and their private army of
heavily armed hitmen?
Giving
new meaning to "heroic
bloodshed", Quentin Gunn, a man torn by the scars of his past searching
for revenge and redemption, will risk everything, even those he holds
dear, to root out the city's never-ending bloodstream of crime and
corruption. When trouble comes up in your street, maybe you should
have… a Gunn for Hire.
